North assistant coach Leigh Tudor will be part of the AFL’s exclusive coaching accreditation course in 2017.
The Level 4 program spans two years, with each coach assigned an individual mentor while also completing workshops with successful international coaches.
Scott Burns (Collingwood), Dean Solomon (Gold Coast), Brett Kirk (Sydney), Brendon Lade (Port Adelaide) and Steven King (Western Bulldogs) rounded out the successful candidates for the course.
Tudor is the most experienced of the coaches in the program, having been an assistant at Geelong, St Kilda and Sydney before his current role at Arden Street.
The 47-year-old also gained valuable match-day experience when he was handed the reins for North’s recent JLT Series match against Sydney.
The program has already seen graduates, with Brendon Bolton and Simon Goodwin part of the first intake in 2015 before going on to coach Carlton and Melbourne respectively.
