The race for the Coleman Medal is going down to the wire, with Ben Brown one of five players who are a realistic chance for top honours.
Brown held a 10-goal buffer just three weeks ago, but the fast-finishing Tom Hawkins and Jack Riewoldt have added some heat to the Coleman race.
Brown’s four-goal haul on Sunday ended somewhat of a lean-streak by his standards, and returned him to the top of the leaderboard, alongside Riewoldt, who booted ten.
Although Brown’s record against the Crows isn’t amongst his best (7 goals in five games), the presence of Jarrad Waite will be a welcome foil.
With the veteran alongside him in the front six, Brown averages over a goal a game more in 2018.
A big haul for Brown in Adelaide could set up one of the best Coleman Medal finishes in recent years.
North’s number 50 should be full of confidence ahead of the Round 23 match-up with St Kilda, having kicked a season-high 6 goals in Round 2.
Who could forget Brown’s seven-goal haul in the final home and away game last year? A similar feat would have him right in the mix to claim his first Coleman.
