North Melbourne captain Jack Ziebell’s inspiring performance in the win over Brisbane has earned him nine votes in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year award.
Trent Dumont’s brilliant effort in the midfield also caught the eye of the coaches, with North’s number 14 awarded seven votes.
Majak Daw and Kayne Turner both had fine games, and were given two votes apiece.
Dayne Zorko was the best for the Lions, earning eight votes. Harris Andrews and Hugh McCluggage were given one each.
Hawthorn’s Tom Mitchell leads the way atop the standings, overtaking Melbourne’s Max Gawn.
Shaun Higgins remains the Roos best on the standings, currently sitting seventh overall.
