Brent Harvey: Lindsay Thomas head-butt 'silly'
North Melbourne is disappointed in small forward Lindsay Thomas but won't discipline him.
Harvey said Thomas' head-butt on young Giant Jacob Townsend at Etihad Stadium on Sunday had been "silly", but was confident a contrite Thomas would not suffer a similar brain fade again.
"Lindsay got on the front foot and spoke to us guys on Monday," Harvey said at Aegis Park on Tuesday.
"He knew that it was a really silly thing to do, especially when you're 80 points up.
"He spoke to us, he was really disappointed. We're disappointed with Lindsay and the consequence is he's going to miss two weeks and two very important weeks for us.
"Internally there will be no other punishment. The punishment is, Lindsay will be sitting out for two weeks and that's massive for our football club."

Thomas entered an early guilty plea to misconduct, accepting the Match Review Panel's offer of a two-week ban rather risking a three-week ban at the Tribunal.
Thomas' penalty was increased by carryover points from his two-week suspension for rough conduct against Melbourne's Daniel Nicholson in round 19 last year.
The small forward also controversially escaped suspension for a bump on Collingwood's Ben Reid in round one this year, with the MRP ruling the pair's head clash was accidental.
Harvey was confident Thomas would learn from his latest suspension.
"He knows (his actions were disappointing) and that's the good thing about it," Harvey said.
"Hopefully he can come out the other end and learn from it and I'm sure you won't see that again because he was very disappointed on Monday morning when he spoke to the playing group."
Thomas has been in career-best form this season, putting past goalkicking yips behind him to kick 39.16 to sit fourth on Coleman Medal table.
Harvey said Thomas would be sorely missed in the Roos' upcoming clashes with Richmond and the Brisbane Lions, but was unsure who would replace him in the team.
