Round 18: Jed Anderson
A fearless approach to pursuing the footy has allowed Jed Anderson to shine in his return for North Melbourne’s VFL side on Saturday afternoon.

The 25-year-old was dominant in midfield, playing a key role in the centre as the Roos farewelled fan favourite Sam Wright with a thrilling two-point win over Box Hill.

“Jed came in and helped up a lot structurally,” VFL senior coach David Loader told North Media.

“It was that type of game from Jed. He’s had 12 tackles and 30 pressure acts, but above that it’s his ability to help us with structure, which was really good.

“We knew that’s how we was going to help us. I’m really pleased for him.”

Anderson’s presence was obvious throughout, winning plenty of admirers for his ability to distribute the footy in traffic, with the bulk of his 25 possessions coming by foot.

Although he was impressive with his disposal, it was the tenacity of his tackling game that provided a major highlight.

“It makes a big difference having someone like Jed,” Loader added.

“He gave us balance around the stoppages. We always knew that he was going to be brutal in the contests, which he was today.

“Any time you can get someone back with his experience, it certainly helps. It was like that today where we had him back in the midfield.

“We love having guys that have got senior experience playing in the team. It was really positive.”
