Important duo return
Nathan Grima and Leigh Adams have been named to take on Geelong at Simonds Stadium.
Both players emerged from the Werribee hit-out unscathed and are set to travel down the highway to Simonds Stadium.
Grima could find himself matched up on housemate Hamish McIntosh, as the former Roo continues his comeback from injury during the pre-season.
Importantly for Brad Scott and the match committee, the trio of Grima, Scott Thompson and Lachlan Hansen could have their first game together for the year. Each fully aware Joel Tippett is right on their heels waiting for an opportunity after showcasing impressive form against Carlton and Hawthorn.
Elsewhere, the omission of Majak Daw suggests Daniel Currie has the inside running on a Round 1 position as the backup ruckman and third tall forward, if the match committee elects to keep a similar structure to the last two years.
However the potential return of Adams may mean an extended look at a smaller forward line, with two talls and the likes of Adams, Robin Nahas, Lindsay Thomas and Brent Harvey at their feet.
Out of the 27-man squad, three will drop down to the emergencies. During the game there will be a three-man interchange bench and three substitutes. Unlike the NAB Challenge series, the subs can not be reset at half-time, and the interchange cap will be set at 120 as opposed to 130.
