Despite plenty of improvement from Round 1, midfielder Shaun Higgins says the Roos are still largely unsatisfied in their defeat to the Lions.
“It wanted to look better than last week, but it’s still disappointing because we’re playing to win and we play to win,” he told North Media post-game.
“You’ve got to give yourself an opportunity (to win), we did that, but we couldn’t get it done.”
North led the Lions for most of the match, but a late flurry of goals for the visitors swung the margin their way.
While the result was far from ideal, there were aspects of North’s performance that were encouraging, providing motivation before next weekend’s clash with Hawthorn.
“We did some things well, but we did some things poorly today,” Higgins said.
“You continue to build on those positive signs that we saw, but we just need to see more of it.
“There’s another game in seven days, we need to recover really well, get back into the club, find out the areas we need to work at, plan for Hawthorn and look forward to next weekend.”
