Ahead of his 12th season, North Melbourne ruckman Todd Goldstein has declared he feels his best football is still ahead of him.
Goldstein returned to some of his best form in 2018, enjoying his best season since his 2015 All-Australian year.
Despite turning 31 in July, Goldstein isn’t planning on slowing down any time soon.
“I am enjoying life and footy,” Goldstein said.
“I was really motivated when the (2018) season finished because I want to get better. I know I am in my 30s now, but I still feel as if I have got a lot of footy left in me.
“I believe my best footy is still in front of me.
“I don’t care how old I am. I still think I have got three to four years left the way I am feeling now. I want to make sure I leave no stone unturned.”
Goldstein celebrated his 200th game against Fremantle last season, but faces a different challenge against the Dockers this time around, with Sean Darcy and Rory Lobb in the ruck.
Five new faces will appear for North on Sunday afternoon, and the number 22 is confident that they can make a significant difference to the Roos fortunes this season.
“We have got high hopes we can make a difference this year,” he told the Herald Sun.
“We have got the cattle to do well, we’ve got that depth now.
“It (chemistry) is one of those unknown qualities, we probably would have liked to have played a bit more footy together.
