Each week, the best VFL player will be crowned MVP – Presented by the Limerick Castle; a country-style pub located in the heart of North Melbourne.
Round 17: Lachie Hosie
Opposition players continue to have nightmares dealing with lively forward, Lachie Hosie.
The energetic goal-kicker was a constant threat for North Melbourne, earning MVP honours after a hard-working display in the 75-point loss to the Northern Blues.
“Lachie was our best AFL-listed player today,” coach David Loader told North Media.
“He kicked two goals, but ended up with eight shots on goal. He was most our lively player.
“If accuracy was on his side, he really could’ve had a massive impact in the game. He was good, but it had the potential to be a great day.”
With an impact that wasn’t reflected in the numbers, Hosie offered significant pressure.
The 22-year-old created a myriad of opportunities for his teammates, including Curtis Taylor, who also booted a goal.
Despite converting just two scoring opportunities, Hosie was a constant aerial presence, taking six marks.
“I thought he was one of the players that could really hold their head up today," Loader added.
“Anyone that’s having eight or nine shots on goal is doing something right. He’s certainly doing things well, but there are parts of his game that he’ll need to tidy up.
“He’s a terrific kick, there’s no doubt about it. He also tried right until the end of the game.
“You can see, he’s just desperate to play. The kid does everything at tempo, which is fantastic. He’s going to be a decent player for us.
“Right now, he’s going well, he just needs to take the opportunities to hit the scoreboard.
