North Melbourne interim coach Rhyce Shaw has reiterated his wish to be a senior coach but says he has not yet thought about the roles available at other clubs.
St Kilda and Alan Richardson parted ways on Tuesday, while Carlton is also on the hunt for a senior coach.
Shaw has led the Kangaroos to four wins in his six matches in charge since Brad Scott stepped down, but has not yet interviewed for the club's senior job.
"It's business as usual for me, I haven't interviewed or anything like that. The board's been great in keeping me up to date with whatever's going on, and I'm just business as usual," Shaw told reporters on Wednesday.
"[The North Melbourne board] have said there will be a process, and they'll let me know. I reckon I'm in a pretty good spot right now, I'm enjoying what I'm doing. It is week to week in how we go about it, and that's been my process, that's how I've looked at it."
Shaw said he had not yet considered applying for the jobs at other clubs, with his focus firmly on North Melbourne's clash with Brisbane this weekend, and subsequently, the rest of the season.
"I want to be a senior coach. That's my goal and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't. Right now, my focus is clearly on North Melbourne and what we're doing here, I really haven't thought about it," he said.
The Kangaroos head north to take on a Brisbane side full of confidence, but are unlikely to replicate the constantly niggling tag Port Adelaide's Cam Sutcliffe tried to employ against star midfielder Lachie Neale.
"We just want to play our brand of football. I think we've made that really clear over the last six weeks, that we've got certain standards and certain ways we want to go about things," Shaw said, when asked about Neale.
"We're hard at the contest and hard at the ball, that's what we're about. There's no other way we want to play the game, and we'll do that again this week."
Shaun Higgins (AC joint) is a good chance to play this weekend against Brisbane after five weeks on the sidelines, while Mason Wood (quad) is another who may return.
Ben Cunnington was a noticeable absentee from training, having been sidelined since Monday with gastro.
"Shaun's trained the last couple of weeks, he'll train again today (Wednesday) and we'll make a decision on that at the end of training. He has to get through today, it's a really important session for him," Shaw said.
"[Wood] is very similar. Guys who are coming back from injury, they have to ... provide good reason for them come back into the side, and that's train very well today."
Young forward Nick Larkey suffered heart palpitations in the match last weekend against Essendon, but Shaw was confident he would be fine to play.
"He's been dealing with it all year. Our medical staff is fully across that, we've spoken to all the right people and he seems fine.
"He's really comfortable, the docs are really comfortable, the cardiologist's really comfortable, so we're across that. If he trains all right today, he'll be able to play."
