The North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos have secured highly-regarded Tasmanian twins Chloe and Libby Haines at the NAB AFL Women’s Draft.
The Haines sisters were selected with picks 53 and 56 respectively.
Earlier, the Kangaroos snared Daisy Bateman with pick 25, Courteney Munn with pick 36, and rounded out it’s draft haul with Tasmanian Nicole Bresnehan at pick 61.
“We’re really happy with what we’ve been able to achieve with our list build so far and today through the draft,” North’s head of football operations Laura Kane said.
“It’s been a really exciting journey for the club and we’re looking forward to getting the team together on the track in the coming weeks.”
The Haines twins and Bresnehan takes North’s Tasmanian contingent to eight.
“We have a stated aim to have half the side made up of Tasmanian talent and we are well on the way to achieving that,” Kane added.
“The three girls today will join Daria Bannister, Emma Humphries, Britt Gibson, Jessie Williams and Maddy Smith, which is a great result for the club and the state of Tasmania.
“Working with Tasmanian talent and helping strengthen player pathways is something we are continually passionate about.”
