Collingwood forward Travis Cloke has been granted his wish to join the Western Bulldogs in exchange for pick 76 in this year's NAB AFL Draft.
The Magpie veteran, who had been out of favour at the Holden Centre this season, still had a year to run on a lucrative five-year deal but in September expressed his desire to reignite his career with the Dogs.
The premiers believe Cloke – who will turn 30 in March – will help fill the void left by Jack Redpath's absence following another knee reconstruction and allow youngster Zaine Cordy to be used in defence.
"Acquiring another key forward was a focus for us and Travis fits that bill," Bulldogs list manager Jason McCartney said.
"We've tracked Travis closely and believe he has a lot to offer with his endurance and contested marking ability, and will fit well within our current group of forwards.
"We're really pleased to have secured Travis and look forward to his contribution next season."
In 12 years as a Pie, Cloke played 246 games and kicked 441 goals, winning the club best and fairest in 2007 and finishing third in 2011.
A two-time All Australian, he was a key component of Collingwood's 2010 premiership side. Just five players from that team now remain at the club.
The big left-footer topped the Pies' goalkicking from 2011-14 – a period in which he was widely regarded as the best contested mark and one of the best power forwards in the game.
However, Cloke's form in recent seasons has declined and this year he played just 13 games and managed only 17 goals after being dropped three times.
He was a father-son selection in 2004, joining older brothers Jason and Cameron, with their father David Cloke being a star for both Richmond and Collingwood.
