North Melbourne has already netted almost 150 thousand dollars in less than a month to put towards its Box On debt reduction campaign.
The stunning result was revealed on Thursday after the announcement of a new Premiership Pledge initiative by Chairman James Brayshaw.
Joined by senior coach Brad Scott, Chairman James Brayshaw said North has designed several packages which will appeal to all Kangaroo fans.
“Each Premiership Pledge has amazing value including access to Grand Final tickets for the next five years if North is good enough to make it, as well as individual recognition including getting your name on a special jumper, among other things.
“We think this is a novel way for our supporters to help us knock down debt, but also get something in return through investing in the success of the team.”
Four Premiership Pledge packages are available ranging from the Bronze, Silver, Gold and Royal Blue.

“We are not interested in just asking money from our supporters. This is about what we can give back to them. The Premiership Pledge is about joining us on the journey toward winning our fifth premiership and actually being a part of that experience.”
North Melbourne’s debt currently sits at $5 million (not including the $1.5 million owing to Melbourne Stadiums Limited).
“Debt has held this club back in many ways for almost 30 years and we need our 30,000 strong membership to help us attack it now. We know this Board and administration has made some great in-roads in just four years since we took control of the club but there is still a long way to go.
“We have to be ready for free-agency and keep players like Drew Petrie on our list, but also have the ability to grab other quality players from other clubs when they’re on the market. That can’t happen when you’re spending half-a-million dollars a year servicing debt. The interest repayments alone are similar to what we pay our best players.
