Experienced midfielder Jenna Bruton could be set to return to action nine months after rupturing her Achilles tendon in December's AFLW Grand Final.

Bruton has been named in the North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos' extended squad for their SuperClash against Geelong in Week 2.

The Kangaroos will be forced into at least one change, with forward Alice O'Loughlin unavailable after accepting a one-match suspension for a rough tackle in last Sunday's season-opening win over Brisbane.

Bruton, 28, heartbreakingly tore her Achilles in the opening minutes of the Grand Final. She returned to full training in the build-up to Week 1, but missed the club's pre-season practice games.

The Roos will be out to continue the strong form they showed against the Lions as they return to their Arden St home for the first time this season.

North Melbourne's team will be announced on Friday afternoon at 5pm AEST.

Help us celebrate the SuperClash for a great cause

Supporters are encouraged to get to the ground early for the North Melbourne street festival, which kicks off from 1.35pm, 90 minutes before Sunday's opening bounce.

Donation tins will be available at the game for the Royal Children's Hospital's 2025 Good Friday Appeal.

The two teams will come together before the game for a reverse guard of honour with patients and staff members from the Hospital.
