Jy Simpkin's fourth-quarter grab against the Western Bulldogs has seen him nominated for the Round 23 Virgin Australia Mark of the Year.

It was a rough day for North Melbourne, but the midfielder created a late highlight when he got some height on Dogs midfielder Tom Liberatore to take a speccy.

Simpkin is up against Richmond's Noah Balta and Carlton's Brodie Kemp for the round's outright nomination.
