North Melbourne's VFL captain Jack Watkins has earned a perfect slate of votes from the coaches following North Melbourne's thrilling five-point victory over Sydney at Tramway Oval.

On a day that saw the Roos dominate the midfield with a commanding 39-22 advantage in clearances, Watkins played a pivotal role, collecting a game-high 29 disposals including seven clearances of his own to earn 10 votes.

Robert Hansen jnr was the next highest-rated player on the field according to Kangaroos senior coach Tom Lynch and Swans senior coach Damian Truslove.

The small forward continued his impressive string of performances by kicking two goals from 16 disposals to receive five votes.

He's yet to make break into the senior side in 2024 but has put himself firmly in the mix having booted 10 goals in his past five VFL appearances.

In his return from a foot injury, Zac Fisher polled four votes after gathering 27 disposals and six rebound 50s, while combative onballer Hugh Greenwood picked up two votes for his 21-disposal and 12-tackle effort.

Aaron Francis (four votes), Sam Reid (three) and Cooper Vickery (two) all polled for the home side.
