In the Mix
With finals now on the cards for the Roos, the pressure is on everyone to perform, even those currently at VFL level.
North Ballarat had the bye, while Werribee went down in flames against the Northern Blues.
Have your say on the potential changes in the comments section below.
kangaroos.com.au looks at the players who could be next in line for a recall.
Daniel Wells
If passed fit this week following a calf injury in Round 20, expect the gun midfielder to come straight back into the side. North will give him every opportunity to prove his fitness, but won’t be taking any risks with a possible finals appearance just around the corner.
Levi Greenwood
19 possessions, including 10 handball receives and 5 tackles had Levi Greenwood as one of the stand-outs in an otherwise disappointing day for Werribee on Sunday. Named as an emergency regularly in recent weeks, the midfielder could be brought in for a run and would add some more grunt to the side.
McKinley and Warren
Both have been in great form all year and added 2 goals apiece for Werribee, but it may not be enough to force the match committee’s hand.
Ben Speight
18 possessions on the weekend and some good previous outings have Speight back in contention, possibly as a substitute.
Aaron Mullett
Another of the regular North emergencies, Mullett can play as a substitute or off half-back. With ball use and run his strength, North could look to the youngster to make an impact against Freo.
Edwards and Black
Both on the cusp, neither have form to rely on last weekend with the Roosters having the VFL round off. Capable of playing at the top level, North could include either to stretch the Dockers' defence.
Sierakowski, McKenzie and Richardson
Sierakowski had 18 disposals for Werribee while Richardson enjoyed the bye. Both are yet to play a game for North 2012. McKenzie has not had enough footy since returning from Utah with Jack Ziebell.
Kennedy and Delaney
Like Cruize Garlett for much of the year, others are keeping Ayden Kennedy and Cam Delaney from playing in the AFL. The North defenders are playing out of their skins and won’t be making way for any new members of the Roos’ back six anytime soon.
Majak Daw and Ben Mabon
With Todd Goldstein holding down the number one ruck spot and Drew Petrie playing the forward/ruck role, Daw’s chances are slim. However he has been consistent and kicked 2 goals for the Tigers and racked up 25 hit-outs, 12 disposals, 6 tackles and 4 marks.
Mabon is in a similar boat, despite his development this year being fast-tracked as the Roosters' number one ruck option.
Mangan, Lynch, M.Warren and Urquhart
Although there are spots on the senior list available, a rookie upgrade is unlikely this week.
Cam Pedersen
An ankle injury sustained in the VFL means Pedersen will be in doubt this week.
