Enemy Territory: Giants power up
Greater Western Sydney will be without veteran James McDonald on Sunday, but some experienced players including co-captain Luke Power, Tom Scully and Dean Broga
Brogan and Power made successful returns from injury in a practice match against the Sydney Swans in Blacktown and will be in the frame for a call up.
While Power is considered a certainty to play against North Melbourne in Hobart on Easter Sunday, there’s more caution surrounding the potential selection of Brogan.
The Giants had the week off after their early Round One clash with the Swans and that extra time might also enable Scully to return to action after a facial injury he sustained in the pre-season.
Several youngsters also impressed during the scratch-match, which the Swans won 15.3 (93) to the Giants 9.13 (67).
Adam Treloar returned from a foot problem, while number five draft pick Matthew Buntine and Taylor Adams (pick No. 13) made their first appearances for the Giants.
"It was terrific to see Buntine and Taylor Adams going around, both early draft picks, they were really positive," GWS assistant coach Stuart Edge said.
"Adam Treloar started particularly well, as did Dylan Shiel. Overall it (the game) was well worthwhile."
