North Melbourne has finalised its VFL squad for the 2024 season, as it looks to improve on a 2023 campaign that saw it play off in the inaugural Wildcard Round.

Under head coach Tom Lynch, the Roos chalked up 10 wins from 18 games but were undone by Casey in what was their final game of the season.

The pre-season has been promising, with practice match wins against Sandringham (55 points) and Footscray (18 points).

Fifteen players from the 2023 list including Jack Watkins, Ben Davis, Jarrod Lienert, Sam Lowson, Louis Butler and Connor Downie are set to go again this year, with former AFL players Sam Hayes and Mitch Hannan joining the group as well as a contingent of emerging youngsters.

Hannan arrives at Arden Street after stints with Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs. He made 50 AFL appearances for the Demons before he was traded to the Dogs, where he played 30 senior games.

Former Port Adelaide ruckman Hayes is coming off two seasons at Alberton where he featured at AFL level 11 times under Power coach Ken Hinkley.

North Melbourne will kick off its season with a three-game home stretch, with the Northern Bullants the first in line to visit Arden Street this Saturday at 3.05pm.
