It was a return to All-Australian form and Scott Thompson has been appropriately rewarded with his first coaches votes for the season. The key defender accounted for talented Bulldog forward Jake Stringer on Friday night while racking up 26 disposals, 9 marks and 5 tackles for himself.

Brad Scott and Luke Beveridge gave Thompson 9 votes in the AFLCA award – the most of any player on the ground.

Jarrad Waite collected 7 votes for his influential game which included 4 goals, 7 marks and 4 tackles, Daniel Wells was allotted 4 votes following 27 brilliant disposals and Andrew Swallow notched up one vote for his 14 tackle, 23-possession effort.

For the first time this season, Jack Ziebell failed to poll, leaving him in equal 10th on the AFL-wide leader board.
