The North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos are stronger and better prepared to take the extra step on Sunday and reach their first NAB AFLW Grand Final, spearhead Tahlia Randall says.

The Roos are preparing to face Adelaide at Ikon Park, having reached their second preliminary final in consecutive seasons.

The Demons ended their run at this stage last season, winning by 17 points

"It was a pretty devastating loss," Randall told reporters at Arden St on Friday.

"We learned from that and we were able to learn from our mistakes this year against both Melbourne and Adelaide, and Brisbane as well.

"We were able to improve, develop our game and play better as a team.

"All losses will drive us. But it's about learning where we can get better and not make those mistakes again."

The Roos have already shrugged one monkey from their back this month, answering the question of whether they can beat one of the AFLW's 'big three' teams by emphatically defeating Melbourne in the qualifying final

Randall said the win has given the Roos "enormous confidence" they can reverse their heartbreaking loss to Adelaide in Round 9

"We've been close this season. Close against Brisbane, close against Adelaide. We weren't playing our best last time when we played Melbourne in the home and away season," she said.

"So to be able to learn from those mistakes, come back, beat Melbourne and play really well as a team, we take enormous confidence from that."

The team has been further bolstered by the news that superstar midfielder Jasmine Garner has extended her stay until at least the end of the 2027 season.

Sunday's opening bounce is at 3.05pm AEDT at Ikon Park.
