North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos forward Alice O'Loughlin has been named on the interchange in the AFL Players' Association's 2023 AFLW 22Under22 final team.
The 22Under22 team is a fan-voted concept that recognises 22 standout players aged 22 and under at the conclusion of the season (including finals and Grand Final day).
It marks the first time the 21-year-old has been featured in the 22Under22 side since making her League debut two years ago, and she becomes the first Roo to secure a spot since Tahlia Randall in 2021.
O'Loughlin was selected in the 44-player squad earlier this month before fans decided on the best young talent in the AFLW to narrow it down to 22.
In her role as a small forward, O'Loughlin booted five goals from 10 appearances through the home and away season, including a career-high three-goal haul against the Power in Round 7. She also kicked a ripper from one of her 14 disposals during North Melbourne's dominant qualifying final victory over Melbourne.
While still finding avenues to goal, O’Loughlin has grown on the defensive side of the ball. She’s amassed 42 tackles from 11 games thus far in 2023 - 15 more than she had through 11 appearances in last season.
The No.6 is expected to line up again for the Kangas this weekend when they clash with the Crows in a blockbuster preliminary final at Ikon Park.
