We acknowledge that this is a sad outcome for those who voted in favour of a Voice to Parliament. In particular, we want to acknowledge the hurt this result will cause Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who desired this change in Australia’s Constitution, many of whom are connected with our club.
The club’s Board of Directors, CEO and senior leaders continue to hold the view that a voice for First Nations peoples in this country and in this game is fundamentally important.
As a club, we immensely value the contributions of our First Nations peoples historically and in the present.
We will continue to have a purposeful influence on the environment we create at our home of Arden Street on Wurundjeri Country.
We will be authentic in our dialogue and genuine in our action on this journey.
We commit to elevating and listening to the voices of our First Nations past and present players, staff and community.
In doing this, we are stronger together and we will be a better club.
