The North Melbourne Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Shayne Stevenson to the position of State Manager, Tasmania.
Stevenson brings a significant level of experience and expertise to the Kangaroos, having most recently been CEO of the Tasmanian Racing Club since December 2014.
This follows an impressive eight-year tenure as State Manager, Tasmania, for the Hawthorn Football Club from 2006 to 2014.
Stevenson has also held positions at AFL Tasmania and the Glenorchy Football Club.
"Shayne's local knowledge, networks and experience will be a great asset," North managing director and CEO Carl Dilena said.
"He is a dedicated professional with a track record of providing strategic and operational leadership to organisations within the sports industry."
Tasmanian born and bred, Stevenson played 45 games for Fitzroy and Hawthorn between 1991 and 1997.
Dilena said Stevenson's appointment reinforces North’s long-term commitment to the state of Tasmania.
"Shayne will further enhance our relationship with Tasmania and the local community through various avenues and initiatives," Dilena added.
"This will include all our grass roots and development programs through our Next Generation in Schools, online Huddle program – GOAL!, Next Generation Academies, which provide elite talent pathways for Tasmania’s brightest prospects, as we've seen most recently with Tarryn Thomas, and a range of other products.”
Stevenson begins on April 2 and will be based out of the club's offices at Blundstone Arena joining North's program manager of GOAL!, Christian Ellston and supporter growth coordinator, Trent Baumeler.
