While the North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos made it through the SuperClash against Carlton unscathed, small forward Charli Granville sustained a rib injury in a scrimmage match on Sunday morning.

Granville, along with fellow unselected teammates Ailish Considine, Liz McGrath, Niamh Martin, Sophia McCarthy and Cassidy Mailer, took part in an unofficial hitout with players from Fremantle, Collingwood, and Carlton but failed to return to the field after copping the blow to her mid-section.

"'Chuck' (Granville) unfortunately sustained a heavy knock to her ribs (in the scrimmage match)," senior physiotherapist Billy Williams told NMFC Media.

"She has been managed under the care of our medical team and will be monitored over the next few days before we have a timeframe update on her return, but we know she'll be doing all the right things from a rehab standpoint to get herself fit as soon as she can."

Young defender Hannah Bowey faces a fitness test later in the week as she looks to enter the selection frame for the Friday night blockbuster against Geelong by shaking off a bone stress issue.

"Hannah continues to tolerate her build in training loads well and has completed full team training sessions in the last week," Williams said.

"She will have another training session to tick off this week prior to Round 3, and if she completes this satisfactorily Han will be available for selection."

Midfielder Jenna Bruton has missed the opening two games of the season as she continues to work her way back from a calf strain.

The No.35 will be pushing for spot on the plane that heads to Launceston for Round 4 with her expected return date slated as 1-2 weeks.

"Jenna has had a productive week of rehab and has returned to running and rehab skills really effectively. She will look to return to modified training with the main group this week," he said.

Also working hard in rehab is Zoe Savarirayan who "hasn't let her knee injury affect her energy and application to all aspects of the footy program".
