Geelong midfielder Josh Caddy has emerged as Richmond’s key target in a potential trade for Brett Deledio.

Caddy is contracted until the end of the 2018 season. However, the Tigers have signalled their interest in him after revealing yesterday Deledio’s desire to get to the Cats.

As revealed exclusively on NAB AFL Trade Radio, it is understood Caddy’s close relationships with both potential recruit Dion Prestia and former Cats football boss Neil Balme, are both key factors in the pursuit of the 24-year-old. 

Caddy joined Geelong in 2012 in return for one of the two compensation picks the club gained for Gary Ablett. He has played 81 games in his four seasons at the Cats.

Geelong rates Caddy highly, and would prefer to bring Deledio to Simonds Stadium using other players and picks.
