North Melbourne would like to congratulate Andrew Dillon on his appointment as chief executive of the AFL.

North Melbourne President Dr Sonja Hood pointed to Dillon’s long period of high performance at AFL Headquarters as evidence of his credentials to replace outgoing CEO Gillon McLachlan.

“Andrew is absolutely the man for the job,” Dr Hood said.

“He is a person of outstanding intellect, talent and integrity and we commend the AFL Commission for coming to this decision.

“His body of work across a number of portfolios and projects across more than two decades makes him the most obvious successor to Gill.

“From our own club’s perspective, Andrew has always shown a deep understanding of how a club works and the unique challenges we face and we look forward to working with him.”
