North Melbourne is delighted to announce that last week’s Good Friday SuperClash against Carlton raised $201,437* for the Good Friday Appeal.

The money raised from this year’s match surpasses last year’s donation of $165,000 and brings the total donated to the Appeal since the inaugural Good Friday match in 2017 to almost $800,000.

More than three quarters of the total amount raised came from ticket sales ($87,530), with $5 contributed from every adult ticket sold, and the generosity of North Melbourne’s club sponsors McDonald's, Mazda, Puma and Tasmanian Heritage ($65,500).

The remainder came from North Melbourne’s Good Friday Appeal donation page, the auction of the special match-worn SuperClash guernseys, the Good Friday Eve Lunch, virtual seat sales and raffle ticket sales on gameday.

"We were incredibly proud to host Good Friday football for the sixth time and support the amazing work of The Royal Children’s Hospital," North Melbourne chief executive Jennifer Watt said.

"This fantastic contribution to the Good Friday Appeal and Royal Children’s Hospital highlights the power of the football community and the importance of the Good Friday fixture.

"We thank the 49,062 fans who attended the match for helping to achieve a record-breaking Good Friday football crowd and the largest crowd at Marvel Stadium since 2013.

"Everyone who supported the day has made a significant contribution to a very worthy cause."

Good Friday Appeal executive director Rebecca Cowan thanked the club for its support.

"The Good Friday Appeal is incredibly grateful for the support of the North Melbourne through the Good Friday SuperClash," Cowan said.

"Since 2017, North Melbourne has engaged their players, staff and fans to raise significant funds to support The Royal Children's Hospital which provides life changing care for our kids.

"It was wonderful to see the players visit the hospital and for the children to spend time with their heroes along with the fundraising activities as part of the SuperClash game against Carlton. It is extremely heart-warming to see everyone from the club get involved."

The money raised will help The Royal Children’s Hospital deliver the best possible care to patients and their families through ground-breaking research, state-of-the-art equipment and technology, patient and family-centred care programs and staff training and development.

*Final figure to be determined following the end of SuperClash guernsey auction and counting of donations from tins at the match.
