There could be a host of Roos returning this week; whether they’re through the VFL or AFL remains to be seen.
A crucial match against Hawthorn at the MCG awaits North on Saturday afternoon.
NMFC.com.au looks at those in the mix for a call-up.
Defenders
Youngster Ed Vickers-Willis continues to put his name forward after another solid defensive display in the VFL last weekend.
In his second year at Arden Street, the 20-year-old has already been named as an emergency on multiple occasions in 2016, suggesting he’s not far away.
Meanwhile Lachlan Hansen could be a key position option if Scott Thompson fails to recover from his groin issue sustained against the Bulldogs.
If Luke McDonald and Sam Wright pass their respective fitness tests, they could also be available for selection, although the VFL may be the safer option.
Forwards
While Hansen is a chance to come in at the defensive end, there is also a possibility he could be named as a forward.
The veteran spent time at both ends of the ground for Werribee on Sunday. With Ben Brown battling a knee injury, Hansen is ready to play wherever he’s needed if he’s called up to face the Hawks.
Small forward Robbie Nahas had an impressive game for Werribee, threatening around goals. After a low-scoring round against the Bulldogs, the North match committee may elect to bring in another forward this week.
Midfielders
Ben Jacobs is another who is listed as a ‘test’ in this week’s Anytime Fitness injury report. After three months out of action, his return will be gladly welcomed at either level if he is available.
Declan Mountford had another impressive tagging effort last weekend, this one on AFL-listed Hawk Billy Hartung. The first-year Roo is edging closer to a debut with each passing week.
