North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos forward Zoe Savarirayan will miss the 2023 AFLW season after scans confirmed a right ACL rupture.
The 18-year-old sustained the injury during a VFLW training session.
"We are really disappointed for Zoe," North Melbourne head of women's football Nathan Hrovat said.
"Zoe made a promising start to her AFLW career, stringing together four games in the back-end of last season while also juggling her Year 12 studies. We were really looking forward to watching her continue her development this season, but instead will continue to support her during her rehab."
Savarirayan was recruited from Wesley College after showing great potential while playing for her school in 2022.
She made her debut in Round 6 against Sydney and immediately displayed her electric pace as she streamed inside 50.
Due to Savarirayan’s injury, North Melbourne will have the opportunity to select a replacement player at next week’s AFLW supplementary draft.
