North Melbourne has officially locked in its playing list for the 2023 season with hopes of improving on last year's 18th-placed finish.

The Kangaroos finished the 2022 season positively under now full-time head coach Tom Lynch, with two honourable losses to Sydney and Gold Coast split by a 58-point win over Coburg in the penultimate round.

Set to be captained by fourth-year Kangaroo Jack Watkins, the squad includes a host of new names as well as a contingent of former AFL players.

As announced earlier, Louis Butler, Ben Davis, Nick Stevens and Connor Downie will all pull on the blue and white this season having spent last year on their respective AFL lists, while Jarrod Lienert has also been signed as a player-coach after stints with Port Adelaide and St Kilda.

North Melbourne will kick off its season with a three-game home stretch, with Port Melbourne the first in line to visit Arden Street this Saturday afternoon for Round 1.

The Roo Shop will also be open at the club on Saturday between 11am and 5pm for those looking to gear up in blue and white.
