The North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos have informed Perri King she will not be offered a contract for the 2023 AFLW season.

King was recruited from the Glenorchy Football Club with pick 43 in the 2021 AFLW Draft and represented the Kangaroos’ VFLW side in her draft year with some strong performances in the midfield.

Despite being named as an emergency several times during AFLW Season 7, the 19-year-old was unable to break into the side.

“Perri gave her all the program across two seasons. Her attitude and work ethic during her time in our program is a testament to her character, and it goes without saying we will miss her infectious personality, as well as the way she has wholeheartedly supported her teammates,” North Melbourne head of women’s football Nathan Hrovat said.

“We thank Perri for her contribution to the club and wish her all the best for her future.”
