Fringe Geelong midfielder George Horlin-Smith has joined Gold Coast.
The Suns gave up pick No.59 in this year's NAB AFL Draft for him.
Drafted by Cats at No.37 in 2010, he has lined up in 51 career matches.
The 25-year-old managed just four games this year. One was a magnificent performance against Port Adelaide with the onballer picking up 26 disposals, eight tackles and two goals after coming in as a late inclusion at Adelaide Oval.
Gold Coast has also recruited Anthony Miles and Corey Ellis from Richmond, while losing star forward Tom Lynch, Aaron Hall and Jack Scrimshaw.
Suns list manager Craig Cameron told goldcoastfc.com.au Horlin-Smith's character would be valuable.
"George is a fantastic young man and we're excited about what he can bring to our club," said Cameron.
"He'll add to our midfield depth, but he's also a man of great character who was highly regarded amongst his peers and the coaching group at Geelong.
"As a club, we're keen to target players looking for greater opportunity at AFL level, who are keen to drive our club forward, George definitely fits that mould."
Horlin-Smith was a popular figure at GMHBA Stadium during his eight-year stint at the club and won the best clubman award at the best and fairest earlier this month.
"George has been a highly respected member of our club for eight years, on and off the field," general manager of football Simon Lloyd said.
"The strength of character George has demonstrated over this time at Geelong is a testament to him and the club wishes him well at the Gold Coast."
