North Melbourne has announced its VFLW leaders for the season ahead, with former Carlton AFLW player Jess Jones named captain.
It will be Jones' second campaign as a member of the club's VFLW program, after spending early 2022 at Arden Street where she took out the Best Clubwoman award.
"'JJ' is a natural leader on and off the field, displaying fierce competitiveness while also fostering strong connections," North Melbourne VFLW senior coach Steph Binder said.
"She sets the standard on the track and lifts everyone around her, and off the field she's putting in a lot of work to ensure our VFLW program is successful for years to come."
Flanking Jones in a vice-captain capacity is the experienced duo of Brooke Slaney and Brittany Gibson.
It will be Slaney's second consecutive season in the role, while the addition of Gibson's experience is expected to be a key aspect as well in the coming months.

SYNC NOW"Brooke is the epitome of care and compassion," Binder mentioned.
"Despite her own injury setbacks (foot), she is always the first to make sure everyone else is OK. She makes sure everyone feels valued and that they belong.
"We can't wait to have Brooke out of rehab so she can lead by example on the field as well.
"'Gibbo' has been absolutely brilliant since joining our program. She brings so much knowledge and experience with her, and she has such a great willingness to share it with all her teammates.
"Whenever Gibbo speaks, everybody listens, it's like having an extra coach on the field."
Also featuring in the six-player leadership group is Emily Paterno, Teagan Bradley and Mietta McDonald.
Like Slaney, crafty goalkicking forward Paterno will resume her role in the contingent after being included in 2022.
"'Patty' is a true leader of the people," Binder revealed.
"She has amazing knowledge, she works incredibly hard, but she also knows the importance of enjoying her football.
"Patty has really good balance and perspective, making her a great role model for our younger players."
Emerging youngsters Bradley and McDonald, who has been involved with the club since the 'Melbourne University' days five years, are both new to the leadership group.
"'Teags' really stepped up in pre-season and filled a leadership void left by our departing leaders who got drafted into the AFLW," Binder said.
"At such a young age, she shows great maturity and is already pushing her teammates to be better and is sharing her knowledge with our new players to the club.
"Mietta is incredibly level-headed and articulate. Like Gibson, when Mietta talks everybody listens. I hold Mietta's opinions in such high regard and know she will always give me honest feedback.
"As a collective, all of our leaders are good footballers but even better people ... that's really important to us."
North Melbourne's VFLW side will have its first hitout of the season on Saturday, February 25 at 1.30pm when it hosts Tasmanian-based club Glenorchy at Arden Street in a practice match.
