A disappointing loss against the Lions overshadowed the good performance of vice-captain Drew Petrie, but his efforts didn’t go unnoticed by the coaches.

With 14 disposals, 7 marks and 5 goals, Petrie was the most influential player on the field, doing his all to get his side over the line.

His eight votes make for an interesting look at the top of the leaderboard. Andrew Swallow stills leads the way with 28 votes, while Jack Ziebell (27) and Petrie (26) are not far behind.

Sam Gibson has been one of the Kangaroos’ most consistent performers, and he polled for the fifth time on Saturday night.

His haul of 28 disposals, 4 inside 50’s and 7 marks was enough for one vote, while Scott Thompson was also recognised for his work defensively. The number 16 had 14 disposals, 6 marks and an impressive 8 one percenters to his name.

It was Thompson’s sixth appearance among the votes.
