The North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos will face Collingwood in their first official practice match ahead of Season 7.

The Magpies will host the Roos at the AIA Centre on Wednesday, August 3, with the match beginning at 6.45pm AEST.

Draftees Taylah Gatt, Charli Granville, Sophia McCarthy and Grace Matser have been named in the 23-player squad, while it will also be the first time cross-code rookie Zoe Savarirayan and Irish recruit Erika O'Shea wear the royal blue and white stripes.

The Roos' second and final practice match will be against Season 6 premiers Adelaide on Saturday, August 13 at Norwood Oval on a historic weekend where all 18 AFL and AFLW clubs will play the same opposition.

Senior coach Darren Crocker's side will be looking for a strong pre-season campaign to help build on last season's fourth-place finish on the ladder.

Season 7 will officially begin on Saturday, August 27 when the Kangaroos host the Gold Coast Suns at Blundstone Arena on Saturday, August 27.
