With 18 games played in 18 days, North Melbourne will play two finalists from this season, Carlton and Hawthorn.
Strengthening the Roos’ links to Ballarat, the game against Carlton will be played at Eureka Stadium in the Saturday twilight timeslot. After no pre-season game in the region in 2013 it will be a welcome return and could draw a sell-out crowd.
After the Blues’ fixture, North has a six-day break before finishing its pre-season campaign against Hawthorn at Aurora Stadium. The corresponding fixture in 2013, at Craigieburn, was called off early to inclement weather.
Both games will be televised live on Fox Footy with the club wearing the pre-season jumper voted on by its fans.
