The North Melbourne Kangaroos are saddened to learn of the passing of former player Kevin McMahon.
A dashing wingman, McMahon made his way up from the Kangaroos’ thirds to feature in 119 matches between 1949 and 1959.
He the Most Improved Player trophy in 1951, twice placed second in the Syd Barker Medal, and won Victorian selection in 1955.
McMahon wore No.15 in his first season with the Kangaroos, but for the remainder of his career he wore No.21.
His name is one of only three to adorn that locker at Arden Street, along with 1977 premiership player John Byrne and 2007 leading goalkicker Corey Jones.
The club was privileged to have been visited by Kevin, his wife Val, his children and grandchildren just two months ago, to celebrate his 92nd birthday.
North Melbourne players will wear black armbands for Saturday's game against Richmond at Marvel Stadium to honour McMahon's life and contribution to the club.
