Curtis Taylor's leap over Lachie Keeffe on Sunday has been rewarded with a Four'N Twenty Mark of the Year nomination.
It’s a fitting visual metaphor, as the 22-year-old's stock has soared this season. A hit-up forward in a former life, Taylor has flourished in a demanding role on the wing.
The nomination caps perhaps his best game in the role. Taylor compiled 18 disposals, eight marks, a team-high seven intercepts and a goal on the weekend.
The conventional stats read well, but so too does the GPS data.
Taylor covered the most distance at high speed of any Roo, and was the third-fastest to run back when possession fell into the Giants' hands, behind Flynn Perez and Tom Powell.
He isn't just finding the ball, he's working his backside off without it.

When Taylor came back to earth on Sunday, a smile spread across his face as he realised he'd held onto the hanger.
Let's hope the narrative arc of the Roos' season bears out similarly, and the effort they're putting in leads to a few smiles in the second stanza.
Taylor is up against Brisbane forward Joe Daniher and Carlton journeyman Jack Silvagni.
