The North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos are delighted to announce the recommitment of star midfielder Ash Riddell to the club for the next two seasons.
Signed by the club as a free agent during the 2018 expansion period, Riddell has evolved to become one of the top midfielders in the game.
Riddell took her game to new heights during the 2021 season, rewarded with an All-Australian selection and a third-placed finish in the AFLW best and fairest.
More recently, the 26-year-old won the club’s AFLW Best & Fairest after her outstanding 2022 campaign.
AFLW list and performance manager Rhys Harwood says Riddell's commitment to the club shows the strength of the program.
"We are absolutely delighted that Ash has committed to the club for the next two seasons," Harwood said.
"Ash’s performances since joining our program are a testament to her work-rate and drive. Her on-field performances have been nothing short of outstanding. Ash is also a key leader for our group off the field and continues to set elite standards.
"Ash is as driven as anyone to help take our group to the next level, and we can’t wait to see her in the royal blue and white again in the upcoming AFLW season."
Riddell equalled the AFLW record for disposals in a game in round 1 with 35 touches before smashing the benchmark against West Coast in the final home and away season with a 42 disposal performance.
Riddell also set a new record for disposals in an AFLW season with 322.
