Ash Riddell earns one of her 42 disposals on Saturday

There have been few certainties in the AFLW this season, but one has been Ash Riddell getting her hands all over the footy.

Riddell's 42 touches against West Coast on Saturday set a new AFLW disposals record, smashing the previous mark of 35. Here's how she went about it.

Consistency

In the Roos' 10 home-and-away games this season, Riddell's lowest disposals tally has been 23. She's averaged 29.9 touches per game, racking up an incredible 299 across the campaign. That's also a new AFLW benchmark, breaking the previous total of 222, set across nine games by Collingwood's Brittany Bonnici last season.

Determination

Saturday's game was an important one for the Roos, who needed to beat West Coast by enough to hold off Fremantle in the battle for fourth place. Riddell knew it, putting the stats counters at risk of repetitive strain injury by winning 22 touches by half-time, also a joint AFLW record.

Impact

Riddell's disposals count can sometimes gloss over the role she plays in driving the Roos forward. Alongside her 42 touches against the Eagles on Saturday, she contributed nine clearances, five inside 50s and seven score involvements. Her 480 metres gained was a whopping 170m more than anyone else on the park.
