Kangaroos chairman Graham Duff today said the meeting with the AFL reaffirmed the agreement with the Kangaroos to play 10 games over three years on the Gold Coast.

“The main point is that the three-year deal stands. We will play 10 games over three years at Carrara as we have agreed to,” Mr Duff said.

Duff said the AFL also confirmed their continued support of the Arden St Redevelopment, which is expected to begin later this year.

“The AFL provided us with information both on their assistance for the Kangaroos, and their long-term vision for the Gold Coast.

“We were pleased with the presentation and the AFL’s support. The Board will now go away and consider all the information that we have.

“The Kangaroos Board has a responsibility to make a decision for the long-term future of the club and to set a vision that will deliver financial strength for our club, certainty for our supporters and the ability to deliver future premiership success.

“Andrew and the AFL explained their plans to expand football onto the Gold Coast. We have seen that information and we will evaluate all options and opportunities and decide on a path that is in the best long-term interests of the Kangaroos and our supporters.”
