The North Melbourne Kangaroos appreciate that this is a day which many acknowledge as the foundation of modern Australia.

We are grateful for the opportunities we enjoy in our beautiful country due to the hard work of the generations before us.

However, we are also conscious that mistreatment and hurt was caused during settlement and beyond, and therefore today represents a day of reflection, pain and sadness for First Nations peoples.

We respect everyone's right to either acknowledge or mourn this day and look forward to finding a way to recognise our shared history together.
