The Roos are in Tasmania for the club’s 2017 Australia Post AFL Community Camps, with plenty of exciting activities on the agenda.

As part of the club’s partnership with Spirit of Tasmania, North players have travelled to all corners of the southernmost state, visiting schools, local footy clubs and a host of community groups.

The players arrived early on Monday morning, with those in Hobart being welcomed by City of Hobart Lord Mayor Sue Hickey at a Civic Reception before paying a visit to some of the Roos' biggest fans.

Captain Jack Ziebell said the playing group always enjoyed spending time in Tasmania.

“We’re pretty lucky to get down to Tasmania, as we build our brand down here and engage some youngsters,” he said.

“It’s obviously a great opportunity to get down in the community, spend some time with the kids; it’s a great initiative.”

Teammate Sam Durdin was one of a handful of players who visited Mount Carmel College, an all-girls school, with plenty of budding AFLW stars taking part in a clinic and question and answer session.

“Obviously they are young, they are only just starting their footy careers,” Durdin said.

“It’s good to just show them what it’s like to hit the highest level, and the feeling we get and what we’ve accomplished.”

The Roos will spend another day in Tasmania on Tuesday, with more school visits, Super Clinics and community appearances scheduled.
