North Melbourne has again attracted a strong television audience, this time for its Friday night blockbuster against Geelong.

Close to a million viewers tuned in for arguably the Kangaroos' finest performance of the season against a premiership contender.

The match was the AFL's highest-rating game of the round, pipping Saturday night's Carlton/Fremantle clash and the Adelaide derby.

It's the third time this season a North Melbourne fixture has claimed top spot, after similar strong ratings in its two previous Friday night matches.

The Kangaroos' will feature on Channel 7 on Sunday against the Crows at AAMI Stadium.
