Jaidyn Stephenson hit the track as the Kangaroos' pre-season kicked off at Arden St

The North Melbourne Kangaroos’ first- to fourth-year players kicked off their pre-season at Arden St on Monday, and they were joined by a handful of special guests.

Leaders Jack Ziebell, Luke McDonald and Kayne Turner cut their off-seasons short to join in with the youngsters, forming a sight that should gladden every Roos fan.

Clad in new Puma gear, soaked in sunscreen and sporting legionnaires' hats, the team hit the track for three hours.

North Melbourne's first- to fourth-year players were back on the track on Monday as the countdown to the 2022 AFL season officially began.

Callum Coleman-Jones wore his new colours for the first time and last year's mid-season rookie draftee Jacob Edwards made his first appearance as a full-time Roo.

While the first bounce of round one may be some time away yet, seeing (at least some of) the team back out on the track is a sight for sore eyes, and fans can firmly look towards the 2022 season as it comes ever closer.

The Roos will welcome the newest batch of draftees to the club next week, with the rest of the list due to return on December 6.
