North Melbourne is excited to announce the appointment of Stephanie Binder, as VFLW senior coach in 2022.
Binder’s experience extends across talent pathways through involvement with Vic Country U19 Girls and Dandenong Stingrays U19 NAB League, where she served as an assistant coach in both programs.
After a playing career at Southern Saints VFLW, Binder went on to fulfil the role of development coach in St Kilda’s Next Generation Academy, before becoming the head coach for their Under 15 Girls’ Next Generation Academy.
A vice-captain at the Southern Saints, Binder was also the recipient of the club’s Coaches Award in 2018, awarded by Peta Searle.
North AFLW operations manager, Nathan Hrovat, said Binder’s experience and coaching philosophies will offer a new outlook.
“We’re extremely pleased to add someone of Stephanie’s calibre to the team,” Hrovat said.
“Steph is an experienced football person and her perspective on the game is unique and very impressive.
“We’re also proud to have Steph on board as our first female VFLW senior coach and look forward to seeing her grow in our broader program.”
Binder is a current participant in the She Can Coach program.
