North Melbourne is pleased to announce a successful From the Ground Up campaign, which was created to help deliver the Arden Street Oval Resurfacing Project.
Thanks to the generosity of its amazing members and fans, the club can announce a final result of $405,000 - surpassing the ambitious goal that was set.
From the Ground Up was delivered via a process where every dollar donated by members and supporters was quadrupled by the club's generous major donors.
Works will begin on Monday, December 4 and continue for the next eight weeks, with the AFL team to relocate to La Trobe University to continue their pre-season program.
With an elite surface at Arden Street Oval the club's AFL, AFLW, VFL and VFLW players will be able to recover quicker while minimising the potential for injury.
Another key benefit will be the consistency for the Kangaroos' programs across all four teams, as there will be no requirement to relocate training or matchdays due to the condition of the surface.
This is particularly important for the AFLW team as the club continues to hold home games at Arden Street, a distinct advantage for the team which has just reached its first NAB AFLW Grand Final.
North Melbourne CEO Jen Watt thanked the club's generous donors for their contributions.
"We cannot thank our incredible members and fans enough for their support of this vital campaign," she said.
"The Arden Street Oval Resurfacing Project will ensure we continue to provide our players with elite football facilities at our traditional home.
"We look forward to inviting all donors to our Arden Street Oval reopening event which will include a post-training kick-to-kick with the players."
