North Melbourne's two VFL affiliates will kick off the 2012 season with a much-anticipated clash, as Werribee travels to Eureka Stadium to meet North Ballarat in round one.

The match promises to feature some tantalising match-ups, with the potential for some of the club’s new additions to line up against each other.

Will Sierakowski, Brad Mangan, Malcolm Lynch and Sam Gibson are all aligned to Werribee, while Brad McKenzie, Tom Curran and Max Warren could line up for the Roosters.

The added bonus of a potential berth in the senior side for the following week's AFL season opener against Essendon will mean those who take the field will be eager to impress.

It doesn't get any easier for Werribee in round two with another another away trip, this time against the reigning premier Port Melbourne at North Port Oval, while North Ballarat enjoy a second successive home game against Sandringham.

Werribee will be looking to better last season's effort of fifth and a preliminary final, while North Ballarat attempt to turn things around after a disappointing loss in the semi final.
