A versatile midfield/forward option, Ellie Gavalas has gone from strength to strength in her time on North Melbourne’s list, and her ability to learn from some of the best players in her position has seen her elevate her game year in, year out.

Awarded the Western Bulldogs’ VFLW Player of the Year in 2019, she was selected by the Kangaroos with the 10th pick in the 2019 NAB AFLW Draft, before going onto debut in Round 1 of 2020.

A near constant in the side in her time on the list, her ability to play across multiple lines coupled with her composure, intent and class make it almost impossible to leave her out of the side when fit.

Season 7: Gavalas' dedication and work ethic over her first four seasons at Arden Street saw her deservedly brought into the leadership group ahead of Season 7.

Playing a mix of half-forward and midfield, Gavalas gathered 12 and 10 disposals in the opening two rounds but a hamstring strain at training in the build-up to Round 3 meant she was sidelined up until Round 10.

A solid contributor over the final four weeks of the season, she'll be hoping to avoid any season-derailing injuries next year.
